A beautiful day in Door County

October 2nd, 2006 No comments

Today the weather was just awesome !
So we went to Door County, a very nice place near Green Bay.
We also had the chance, to try one of the specialities of D.C. .. a fish boil !
In a huge kettle Lake Michigan Whitefish and potatoes and onions and just salt is heated,

until it boils over. Then the kettle master shouts “Boil over” and puts kerosene into the fire

The kerosene erases the fish oil normally swimming on the surface and then it’s served with melted butter .. yummy !!!

Have a nice start of the working week.

He did it again …

September 29th, 2006 No comments

Good morning from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula …
What an exciting morning … We went to breakfast and had a wonderful decorated table .. but only for a few seconds … then HE (who is not named) put the table into a mess in just a second …
Before the table was decorated all in white with flowers, after the table was decorated in brown, but still with flowers (strange thing … the table smelled like coffee …)

hhhmmm .. guess who did this ?!?!?

Greetings from Munising,

Mona & The Bears

September 29th, 2006 No comments

After leaving our motel early this morning, we went to Oswald’s Bear Ranch. As the first visitors this day, Mona got the chance to pet the 9 month old cubs.

Then we start our drive to Tahquamenon Falls State Park.

The Upper Falls is one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi. It has a drop of nearly 50 feet and is more than 200 feet across. A maximum flow of more than 50,000 gallons of water per second has been recorded cascading over its precipice.

Our way to Pictured Rocks National Park drove us along the most boring highway in the United States.

Now we are having some sandwiches and cold beer in our room.

Have a good night,
M & M
